We made up. In fact the make up session was so fun, we might break up again next month. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see our special guest, the talented, Denver-based, stand-up sensation, Stephanie McHugh. We love her and we demand that you do as well or we will make you Paris Hilton’s BFF.
We started a Facebook page, too! Be a fan!

We’re done. We just can’t take it any more. The in-fighting. The backstabbing. The sanctimonious put-downs of other members. That’s right, we’re breaking up because our spouses are fighting amongst themselves over which Monkey is funniest. No amount of condoling works as they won’t listen when we tell them over and over again that Mateo is the funniest. But that just starts the Monkey fighting.
One the many problems is Shari’s meteoric rise in popularity. It’s just the guys get sick of hearing, “Let’s go see Shari & Her Trained Monkeys tonight!” It certainly hasn’t helped that Matt2’s concentration is less focused on the troupe and more on becoming the first professional Facebook “artist”. If we have to hear about how the word Sienna is just as beautiful as the color we’re going to shove a 120-count Crayola set up his Status Update.
There is only one thing to do, we’re are going to disband. Don’t worry though. Some of us will be continuing as a group called Lipstick On Your Teeth. It will be an all-gay comedy troupe consisting of Howard, Mateo and Larry. Look for updates on your mirror soon!

It’s here! The Anniversary show. It’s big! We prefer quantity over quality. Ok, we kid. We like both and we’ve added some new things to the night including new character bits. It’s going to be the most fun you can have on a Monday night. In November. In 2008. Join us tomorrow, won’t you? And remember starting this month will be performing on the second Monday of the month.

We have an extra special guest this month! Matthew Taylor of A.C.E. comedy (he’s the ‘E’) will be joining us, so for the second time in our career we don’t have to fake a British accent — Matthew will be playing on the English Isle parts. The last time we had him as a guest we ended up having one of the best shows we’ve ever had, so no pressure there. See details below to come see Matthew do some reading of his stories as well!
7th Anniversary Show: Make sure you put this one down in your calendar. We’ve got some new, big things planned for our annual celebration. It’s the 7-year itch so we may be breaking up at the end of the show in an overblown soap opera kind of way. It could happen! It’s November 10th and don’t forget that we will be performing the second Monday of the month from November on. Oops, we just gave away the ending.
Rodent Halloween: In case you need more improv, The Rodents Of Unusual Size are having their monthly show on October 29th this time around for a spookily funny show. It all takes place at The Avenue Theater.

In honor of a certain Monkey no longer having lymphoma, we are having yet another benefit. This one will be a little smaller though. We’re taking all the money we make and donating it to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk. Our team, The Lymphonades, will be walking on September 25 to help raise money for this great organization which helped Howard with some of his medical bills. So come see us tomorrow night or donate online if you’d like at:

Don’t Forget The Monkey Store: We’ve updated our Cafe Press store (http://www.cafepress.com/mucomedy) with tons of products and placed the new logo on them. Even the Joke Opener shirt has been updated to include Shari — she’s the Blonde. Go ahead. Get yourself something pretty.
Blog Reinstalled: We also put up a new blog (http://www.monkeysuncle.info/blog). You can check out the latest news there and — if we’re all lucky — maybe an occasional funny post from a Monkey. If you use a feed reader, you can subscribe to it here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/munewsblog.
New Night Starting November: Due to some scheduling changes at Jazz@Jack’s, we moving. Starting with our 7th Anniversary Show (Nov 10), we will be performing on the SECOND Monday of each month. Don’t worry. We’ll be reminding you frequently.
Show Tomorrow: Don’t forget that. (See Show Schedule)
Rodents On Wednesday: In case you need more improv, The Rodents Of Unusual Size are having their monthly show this Wednesday. This month is a celebration of the new Fall TV Season. It all takes place at The Avenue Theater at 417 17th Avenue.

Lots to talk about this issue so tuck in!
Newer Logo: You may have noticed it up top? We had some issues with the clipart companies’ “logo-making” policies, so we needed to change it a bit. The Monkey was illustrated by a guy named Dusty who donated his time. What a guy! We’re very happy with it as it allows us to moon everyone who comes to the site or reads the newsletter.
Whored-up Monkey Store: Because we know that you simply can’t resist the logo, we’ve updated our Cafe Press store (http://www.cafepress.com/mucomedy) with tons of products and placed the new logo on them. Even the Joke Opener shirt has been updated to include Shari — she’s the Blonde. Go ahead. Get yourself something pretty.

Rodents On Wednesday: In case you need more improv, The Rodents Of Unusual Size are having their monthly show this Wednesday. This month is Hilarious History. They have an opening act at 7:15. It all takes place at The Avenue Theater.
We’re relaunched the blog to look like the rest of the site! Huzzah! This will be mostly a place for news and, hopefully, the occasional post by the Monkeys. Please subscribe to the feed to keep updated on the lastest and thanks for stopping by.
